Santogold - Say Aha |
] |
I haven't posted in this thing in for-fuckin-ever (the hyphens add respectability to words of an uncertain status in the current lexicon of language) however today while thinking about the fact that most photos these days are digital and wondering if this made them more or less likely to be seen by future generations I decided to hedge my bets by writing random thoughts online as well as in my Notebook of Random Shit (TM).
That being said, hello to the few people who both A are still using livejournal and B read my posts/give a shit.
Conor Oberst has some interesting lyrics despite his oft ridiculous plumage.
The detect button in the posting area knows where I live. The singularity will doom us all.
On further perusal, my original paragraph seems highly self absorbed. Hmmm.

Zomg guys obligatory new years post. So I spent last night with my crazy cousins which was pretty sweet. Watched the 1988 Blob which was awful in a funny way and then they watched Mamma Mia which was awful in a female way. We played halo and almost played rock band but they forgot the game (they brought the drums, guitar, mic etc just not the disc -.-...) and then we fell asleep at about 2 o'clock.
All in all pretty tame considering I was invited to party at a magical dominican's pink house where there were jagerbombs galore. I think I might have had more fun with my cousins.
Happy new years guys hopefully I'll see some of you before you go back to school.
Stay classy San Diego

So yay human rights http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080613/ap_on_go_su_co/scotus_guantanamo_28
My current song is oddly fitting for this news. Yay political rappers with instruments.
I've been watching the first two seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer... I am such a nerd. oh well might as well enjoy being lazy while I can. I'm gonna have to get up at 9:00 soon!!! oh the humanity!! I use sarcasm too much. Ah well I'll blame dad who probaly was making sarcastic jokes in the womb.
Hmm wow life is boring atm. Ah well.

So apparently my psychologist, who I loved, took a job somewhere else. Good for her I suppose (considering the building she was in she probably made shit wages) but my dad apparently forgot to tell me this so tommorow I have an appointment with another person in the building who I met once and couldn't stand. This of course being the first time I would have met with her after they finally diagnosed me correctly.
Yayyy. Ah well as long as he doesn't make me play with puppets I'll deal until we can find another one I like.
School is blah, can't wait to graduate yada yada yada.
Till next time sports fans. I'm Ollie and ITS GONNA RAIN!

Tasha got drunk, made out with two guys, told me about it, claimed she only did it because she was drunk (en vino veritas) and then acidentally revealed she started flirting with them while still sober.
Soooo dumped
Monday was friggen sweet, since she def was not coming anymore I ended up taking Andrew instead. We managed to park, ask three security dudes wtf was going on, buy me a sweet tee shirt and get in pretty quickly so we got food in the place. Andrew foolishly assumed there would be something besides pizza and hot dogs so we wandered around in a circle looking for something for a bit until he decided he wanted some hot polish sausage and really who doesn't. Anyways we got there in time for Against Me! who are kinda shitty live so we sat there making fun of overloud fans and chord progressions. Serj was pretty good considering, although he did this weird thing where he and his band all wore suits and top hats. Serj was dancing around and shit like a madman so that was fun to watch.
Foos were fuckin sweet, then again my mancrush on Grohl might create a slight bias. Whether I wanted too or not I sang along with every song. They had a platform for a second stage which they used for the acoustic songs which had an extended band of like 50 people. Dave kept introducing people and finding an excuse every time to yell two grammies after every person, he seemed a bit excited about it. Then after the awesome Triangle solo they played a couple more songs and went offstage for the whole 'oh you want an encore?' bit. They did this thing where they put a night vision view of them on the screens and kept pointing to the setlist and trying to say the show was over then made us scream for a bit until they came back on.
Funny excerpt: "how long should we play, an hour?" Audience boos "hour and ten minutes?" booing "hour 20?" booing "THATS BULLSHIT" ~keeps going~
FUNNY ANECDOTE! So when I went to get a refill today they gave me my pills and I thought the bag looked heavy but figured meh whatever. It turns out the pharmacy gave me the next size up of pills which is 150mg instead of 75. The label still had insructions for the other size though so following them would not have been good. Luckily I posess a modicum of sense and noticed enough to figure out how to compinsate for it. Still I think its hilarious that the instructions would have fucked me up, and that some idiot should be fired right now for wasting $800 worth of medication and endangering a customer.
Okay it doesnt sound funny when I say it like that but it is... my sense of humor is a bit weird.

I love the Irish because they can come up with something poetic yet hilarious like this,
"May those who love us love us. And those that don't love us, May God turn their hearts. And if He doesn't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles, So we'll know them by their limping."
and something as goddamn random as this,
"May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind illegitimate children chase you so far over the hills of Damnation that the Lord himself can't find you with a telescope."
Thanksgiving tommorow. Should be fun, its nice to see my family and all 8 kagillion of my cousins. Plus, lets be honest, I like me some pies.
Theres a girl, shes very cute, but the situation is complicated. That seems to be my type for some reason, cute and complicated. Obviously my mind is a masochist. I hope Mary Malone's children all beat its ass. I think I might just use that curse in everyday situations just cuz. I'd have to say it slowly though or else no one will understand what I'm saying. Perhaps I'll do a bad fake irish accent while I say it.
Yes folks, this is what I think about while you're at work. I think about this.

I love words, they really are amazing. Somewhere someone decided that in this part of the world a ball was a round thing kids played with. And people went with it. How amazing is that, someone came up with something that everyone agreed on. And it still happens today. Dane Cook said BAMF meant bad ass motherfucker and we listened. How weird is that we can agree on things that represent ideas, hopes, dreams and inter office memos but not the ideas and such themselves. Sometimes people get to choose what words mean, Jesus was either a Son of God, a Prophet, or a nice bedtime story, your choice, spin the wheel and choose an option.
I haven't written one of these silly little rants in awhile. Its odd. Life is strange. I miss talking to Alex sometimes but not as much as I would have thought. 8 o clock rehersals start tommorow. Joyyyyyy. Playing with swords, assasinating gods and doing it to music is a tad draining. My mind keeps drifting, slipping like wet clay through my hands. If i grasp it right I can hold it for a while, but eventually the bit at the bottom will leak out and its gone again.
When does the part without constant stress come? The only way I can deal with it is by making it unimportant, which makes it more stressful at points because I worry the lack of caring will make it more stressful later. Over and over like a damn slinky on an escalator, never getting anywhere unless it stops working and slips backwards.
Its nice having someone to talk to again.
PS. Speaking of words, Escalator is funny looking, innit it?

Starting to really get into college applications shit, I'll have to talk to Mrs. Dionne soon.
University of Maine Farmington looks like it would fit me pretty well. Even if it is in the middle of fucking nowhere. Theres about 12 ski mountains nearby, and I'll always have an excuse to wear a hoody. The only downside would be that there might be some of those french speaking Quebec assholes :p.
Gotta love some of their numbers though. 0% African American and 1 percent everything else except white. It is Maine though. Still when your Latino and Native American populations are the same somethings weird.
Number of international students: 4 Number of countries represented: 7
wtf?
the awesome thing is they only listed 6 countries. Definatly not for math majors.
Still they have what I'm looking for, and I've never really liked cities anyways. It might just be me romanticizing but I've always kind of wanted to go somewhere where there are more pine trees than walmarts.
Its weird though, Farmington is 5 hours away. It kinda just hit me how spread out we're going to be. Meghan's either going to Utah or New York, other people have talked about applying to Florida Polska wants to do something in Poland this year even. I mean aside from the hundreds going to STCC HTCC and UMass we're not really going to run into each other on the sidewalks are we?
Suppose thats part of growing up tho. Fuck that shit.

Scrubs is such a wonderful program. It can be both horribly depressing and hilarious at the same time and it is hard to tell which is more enjoyable. Plus they really lucked out with the actors. There are no really boring characters. I'll be sad next year when it ends, but they are always rewatchable (it is so a word).
God that was sappy.

Since around March I have gotten the urge to go into the woods every night. I have no idea why, it makes no sense.
I finally just took a walk through Forest Park, at 2 am. In sweatpants and a t-shirt.
It was a weird out of body experience type of thing. Dark as all hell. So quiet I could hear the city dreaming.
I don't think I'll sleep today.

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like. 2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better. 3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions. 4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post. 5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
Spooky asked 1. What's the first movie you ever remember seeing? Probably the Lion King. I used to love watching that movie Rafiki was my favorite. 2. Do you have a 'guilty pleasure' TV show? Uhh hmm, Sometimes when I can't sleep I watch stupid anime shows on adult swim. 3. Do you know how many words per minute you can type? No clue, prolly a lot. 4. Pepsi or Coke? I switch every few months. Coke at the moment. 5. How long was your longest phone conversation? Heh prolly twenty minutes. Nobody really calls me on the phone.
